Calle Cobos vineyard, from which all the grapes for our wine are sourced, is one of the few remaining properties where over 100 year old Malbec vines produce highest quality grapes for super premium wines. Besides Malbec we also grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot.
Century old flood irrigation from the Canal Flores has contributed to resistant vines with very deep root systems, that best reflect the terroir characteristics.
The Terroir: Perdriel in Mendoza
The Andes mountains have a significant influence on Perdriel’s weather conditions, blocking the humid airflow from the Pacific Ocean and thus creating a dry semi-arid climate with more than 300 days of sunlight per year. In combination with the nutrient poor sand, clay and gravel soil close to the Mendoza river bed, it is ideal for growing high quality grapes.
Two additional factors make the terroir unique: first, snow melt water from the Andes mountains used for irrigation and second, altitude of 980 meters above sea level, that characterizes viticulture in Perdriel with high diurnal ranges and lower overall temperatures.
